Having heard from Jim Wright (2650)of
the Sydney Central Coast group petty thieving experiences at a central west caravan
park (November 2004 newsletter) and the ease with
which the A'van door can be opened from inside by sliding the window
open and cutting through the insect screen, Peter
Stephens came up with this "not too subtle" solution, which strongly
(but uncharitably) suggests that the pickings might be easier from the Jayco
next door!
In keeping with all of Peter's modifications, the sturdy fixings for the "closure bar" are securely anchored to the
A'van body. A substantial padlock completes the modification.
The modification's attraction is that it not only makes it considerably more
difficult to gain entry, but it also acts as a
clearly visible deterrent.
For further details and a demonstration (A'vanners are always only too happy to
show off their creations) see Peter at any of our gatherings.
